கிறிஸ்துமஸ் என்றவுடன் எல்லோருக்கும் முதலில் நினைவுக்கு வருவது கிறிஸ்துவ நண்பர்கள் வீட்டிற்கு சென்றால் கேக், தடபுடல் விருந்துதான். ஆனால் கிறிஸ்துமஸ் கொண்டாட்டம் துவங்கிய பின்னணியும், அதில் ஏற்பட்ட பல மாறுதல்கள் குறித்தும் பலருக்கும் தெரியாது.

இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் பிறந்த தினம்தான் கிறிஸ்துமஸ் என்பது அனைவருக்கும் தெரிந்த ஒன்றுதான். ஆனால் இயேசுநாதர் எப்போது பிறந்தார், கிறிஸ்துமஸ் என்ற வார்த்தையின் பின்னணி ஆகியவை சுவாரஸ்யமானது.

கிறிஸ்துமஸ் என்ற வார்த்தை "கிறிஸ்ட் மாஸ்" என்ற 2 வார்த்தைகளின் இணைப்பு மூலம் உருவானது. இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பிறந்த ஆண்டு சரியாக தெரியவில்லை என்பதால், கிமு 7க்கும் கிமு 2க்கும் இடைப்பட்ட காலத்தில் அவர் பிறந்திருக்கலாம் என்று வரலாற்று ஆசிரியர்கள் கருதுகின்றனர்.

அதேபோலவே யூதர்களின் பருவகாலம், நாள் காட்டிகள் மூலம் கணக்கிட்டு, ஒரு யூக அடிப்படையில் தான் டிசம்பர் 25ம் தேதி கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகையாக கொண்டாடப்படுவதாக சில வரலாற்று ஆசிரியர்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர்.

கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகையை முதன் முதலில் 4வது நூற்றாண்டை சேர்ந்த மேற்கத்திய கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் கொண்டாடியதாக சில வரலாற்று குறிப்புகள் உள்ளன. ஆனால் வேறு சில பிரிவுகளை சேர்ந்த கிறிஸ்தவர்கள் அதற்கு மறுப்பு தெரிவித்து, ஜனவரி 6ம் தேதி இயேசு பிறந்ததாகவும் கொண்டாடினர்.

எப்படி இருப்பினும் கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகை என்பதை உலகம் முழுவதும் கிறிஸ்தவ மக்கள் மிகச் சிறப்பான நாளாக கொண்டாடி மகிழ்கின்றனர். இந்தத் தினத்தை கிறிஸ்துவர்கள் விசேஷமாக கருதுவதால் அன்றைய தினம் பல புதிய பணிகளைத் தொடங்குவதையும் அவர்கள் வழக்கமாகக் கொண்டுள்ளனர்.

கிபி 800ம் ஆண்டு கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகை அன்று, சார்லிமேனி என்ற பேரரசன் மன்னராக பதவியேற்றான். அதன்பிறகு கிபி 855ம் ஆண்டு இட்முண்ட் என்ற தியாகி மன்னராக மூடி சூட்டப்பட்டான். கடந்த 1066ம் ஆண்டு இங்கிலாந்து மன்னன் வில்லியம் 1 மன்னராக முடிசூட்டப்பட்டார். மேலும் 1377ம் ஆண்டு இங்கிலாந்து மன்னன் ரிச்சார்ட் 2 கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிக்கையை மிக விமர்சியாக கொண்டாடினார். கடந்த 1643ம் ஆண்டு இந்தோனேஷியாவில் கண்டுபிடிக்கப்பட்ட புதிய தீவுக்கு "கிறிஸ்துமஸ் தீவு" என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டது.

இப்படி கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகை நாட்டு மக்களிடையே பிரபலமடைந்து, பின்னர் உலகமெங்கும் விமரிசையாக கொண்டாடும் வழக்கம் உருவானது. கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகை அன்று மகிழ்ச்சியை பகிர்ந்து கொள்ள பரிசுப் பொருட்களை பரிமாறி கொள்வதும், போட்டிகளை நடத்துவது என்று பல கோணங்களில் கொண்டாட்டம் விரிவடைந்தது.

கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகைக்காக முதன்முதலில் கிறிஸ்துமஸ் மரம் வைக்கும் வழக்கம், 1510ம் ஆண்டும் ரிகா என்ற இடத்தில் துவங்கியது. கடந்த 1836ம் ஆண்டு கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகைக்கு அலபாமா என்ற பகுதியில் அரசு விடுமுறையாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டது. 1840ம் ஆண்டு இங்கிலாந்தில் முதன் முதலாக கிறிஸ்துமஸ் வாழ்த்து அட்டைகள் அனுப்பும் வழக்கம் துவங்கியது.

கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகையின் போது கிறிஸ்துவர்கள் குழுக்களாக சேர்ந்து கேரல் சர்வீஸ் என்ற நிகழ்ச்சியை நடத்துகின்றனர். இந்த கேரல் நிகழ்ச்சியில் குழந்தை இயேசுவை வாழ்த்தியும், அவரது பிறப்பு, அவர் உலகில் வந்த நோக்கம் உள்ளிட்ட கருத்துகளை கொண்ட பாடல்கள் பாடப்படுவது வழக்கம்.

கடந்த 1847ம் ஆண்டு பிரான்சில் தான் முதல் முதலாக கிறிஸ்துமஸ் கேரல் சர்வீஸ் நடத்தப்பட்டதாக தெரிகிறது. இந்த கேரலில் "ஓ ஹோலி நைட்" என்ற பிரபல கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பாடல் பாடப்பட்டதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகையை ஓட்டி வரலாற்றில் சில ருசிகரமான சம்பவங்கள் நடைபெற்று உள்ளன.

பண்டைய காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த பாரசீகர்களும், பாபிலோனியர்களும் கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகையை வருடத்தின் நல்ல நாளாக கொண்டாடி வந்தனர். கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகை அன்று, பாரசீக நாட்டில் உள்ள எல்லா அடிமைகளுக்கும் ஒருநாள் விடுதலை அளிக்கப்படும்.

மேலும் சிலர் தங்கள் அடிமைகளை பரிசாக பரிமாறி கொண்டனர். சில எஜமான்கள் கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகை அன்று மட்டும், அடிமைகளுக்கு வீ்ட்டில் முழு சுதந்திரம் கொடுத்ததாகவும் வரலாற்றில் குறிப்புகள் உள்ளது.

பண்டைய காலத்தில் வாழ்ந்த ஐரோப்பியர்களுக்கு பேய், பிசாசு, அசுத்த ஆவிகள் உள்ளிட்டவைகளுக்கு அதிகமாக பயந்தனர். வருடத்தில் நீண்ட இரவு கொண்ட நாட்களில் அவை மக்களுக்கு தீமை விளைவிக்கும் என்று நம்பினர். இதனால் நீண்ட இரவுகளுக்கு பிறகு சூரியன் உதிக்க வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக கிறிஸ்துமஸ் பண்டிகையை கொண்டாடி வந்துள்ளனர்.

மொத்தத்தில் நல்லது ஓங்கவும், அல்லது அழியவும் இந்த நன்னாளை உலக மக்கள் அனைவரும் ஒருங்கிணைந்து இயேசு பெருமானை இறைஞ்சி, துதி பாடி மகிழ்கின்றனர் என்பது சந்தோஷமான விஷயம்தான்.

The story starts at Dinanjali, a newspaper office where Ashwin (Jeeva), is a photographer while Renu (Karthika Nair) and Saraswathi (Piaa Bajpai) are seen as journalists working woth the same newspaper. Vasanth plans to contest in the upcoming elections. Ashwin who has good political contacts he makes his friend Ajmal a politician for a good cause. But after turning as a politician Vasanth turns into a corrupted politician like all other politicians and kicks out Ashwin from his camp. Yogi (Prakash Raj) is the Chief Minister of that political party. Vasanth joins his hands with Yogi and forgets to do good for the society. During some unexpected mishap Saro gets killed in a bomb blast. Bu seeing all these Ashwin plans to bring down Vasanth by using the same political contacts. But Vasanth who is annoyed with the chain reactions plans to take revenge on Ashwin. The rest of the story forms the interesting plans of Jeeva with a twist in the story.

Ajith, the 'King of Box Office Openings' has once again proved that he is THALA. Mankatha is an Ajith movie all the way. Venkat Prabhu has been a worthy director to Ajith and given the actor a strong and interesting movie. It is sure to make Ajith fans very happy to see their star in a different role.Arjun has excelled in his role and proves that he is truly the Action King. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music, especially the background score adds to the thrill of the movie.

Ajith's 50th film didn't happen at an ease for the actor took a very long time and scrutinizing efforts to choose the best one. Initially, he was supposed to work with Gautham Vasudev Menon and it failed due to some difference of opinions. But finally, 'Mankatha' as the title suggests happened on the game of probability as Venkat Prabhu didn't have Ajith in mind while penning the script. Simbu rocks all the way. He gives a matured performance and serious about his task. He combines humour with style. Richa is refreshing and bubbles with enthusiasm. Sonu Sood recreates the Dabanng magic here. He enacted the same role in original with greater perfection. Santhanam’s rib-tickling comedy and enough screen space for Jithan Ramesh makes it count.

Dharani has ensured everyone in the film including Nasser, Revathy, Thambi Ramiah, Vaiyapuri or Mayilsamy gets a part to play. Thaman’s music gives a lift to the film. The pacy numbers are foot-tapping with cinematographer Gopinath capturing them in a grand manner.

Osthi is no serious film, but one that may end up entertaining you.

ஆண்டு தோறும் நடைபெறும் சென்னை சர்வதேச திரைப்பட விழா, 9வது ஆண்டாக வருகிற 14ஆம் தேதி சென்னையில் துவங்குகிறது. 9 நாட்கள் நடைபெற இருக்கும் இவ்விழாவில் 44 நாடுகளில் தயாரான மொத்தம் 154 திரைப்படங்கள் திரையிடப்படுகின்றன.

எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் கொலை வெறி, கொலை வெறிதான். தனுஷ், தமிழையும், ஆங்கிலத்தையும் போட்டுக் குழைத்து உருவாக்கியுள்ள இந்தப் பாடல்தான் எங்கு பார்த்தாலும் கேட்கப்படுகிறது. ஏன் இந்த கொலை வெறி என்று கேட்கும் அளவுக்கு இந்தப் பாடல் மீது இளைஞர்களுக்கு பயங்கர கொலை வெறியாகியுள்ளது. அந்த அளவுக்கு இந்தப் பாடல் அவர்களிடையே பிரபலமாகியுள்ளது.

இதுகுறித்து தனுஷிடம் கேட்டால் பயங்கர குஷியாகி விடுகிறார். அந்தப் பாடலை ஆறே நிமிடத்தில் நான் எழுதினேன். இந்தப் பாடல் வரிகள் மகா எளிமையானவை. அதில் நிறைய இங்கிலீஷ் வார்த்தைகளை நான் பயன்படுத்தியுள்ளேன். அனைவருக்குமே புரியும்படியாக இதை எழுத நினைத்தேன். அதன்படியே அதுவும் வந்தது. இதை ஒரு பாடலாக பயன்படுத்த நாங்கள் திட்டமிடவில்லை.இதுதான் இங்கு ஹைலைட்.

இதை தமிழிங்கிலீஷ் பாடல் என்று கூறி விட முடியாது. நான் ஆங்கிலத்தில் வார்த்தைகளைப் பயன்படுத்தியிருந்தாலும் கூட அதில் தமிழ் வாசனை வீசும் (அப்டியா..??) அனைத்துத் தமிழர்களும் இதைக் கேட்க வேண்டும் என்பதே அதற்குக் காரணம் (ஓஹோ...) என்கிறார் தனுஷ்.

தமிழர்கள் அத்தனை பேரும் இதைக் கேட்க வேண்டும் என்பது தனுஷின் விருப்பம். ஆனால் பாலிவுட்டில்தான் இதை மாய்ந்து மாய்ந்து கேட்டு வருகிறார்களாம். எப்படி இப்படியெல்லாம் தமிழில் கலக்குகிறார்கள் என்று அவர்களுக்கு ஒரே ஆச்சரியமாக இருக்கிறதாம். நாமும்தான் இந்தியில் ஆங்கிலத்தைப் போட்டு கிண்டிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம். இருந்தாலும் தனுஷ் மாதிரி நம்மால் செய்ய முடியாமல் போனது ஏன் என்ற சிந்தனையில் பாலிவுட் மூழ்கியுள்ளதாம்.

ஒய் திஸ் கொலைவெறி கொலைவெறி டி.. ஆஹா, என்ன ஒரு பாடல். உதடுகளை விட்டு நீங்க மறுக்கும் பாடல். மனதை அப்படியே மாற்றிப் போடுகிறது. அருமையான அனுபவம். பாடலைக் கேட்கும்போதே உதடுகளில் புன்னகை வந்து உட்கார்ந்து விடுகிறது, கூடவே சிரிப்பும் வருகிறது. முகத்தில் பலவித ரசங்கள் மாறி மாறி நடமிடுகின்றன.

யூடியூபில் இப்போது இந்தப் பாடல்தான் சக்கை போடு போடுகிறது. காட்டுத் தீ போல இது பரவியுள்ளது. ரஜினியின் மகள் ஐஸ்வர்யாவின் கணவரான தனுஷ்தான் இந்தப் பாடலை எழுதியுள்ளார். இளம் நடிகர் படையின் சூப்பர் ஸ்டாராக இருக்கும் தனுஷ், மிக இனிமையாக இந்தப் பாடலை எழுதியுள்ளார். யாரைப் பார்த்தாலும் இப்போது இந்தப் பாடலைத்தான் கேட்கிறார்கள் என்று உணர்ச்சிவசப்பட்டுள்ளார் அமிதாப்.

Tamil Cinema News - Selvaraghavan says that he has a story ready for Vijay and Ajith to share the screen

Director Selvaraghavan has directed the recently released Mayakkam Enna which had Dhanush and Richa in the lead roles.

This film is doing very well at the box in spite of mixed reviews. Selvaraghavan had recently mentioned that he has already readied a story which can have Vijay and Ajith in the lead roles. Selvaraghavan while speaking to the media said, " Many people appreciated me after seeing Mayakkam Enna. As far as I am concerned I am interested in directing different genre of films instead the usual commercial films. I don’t have any difference of opinion with Yuvan Shankar Raja. Very soon we both will be working together. Many are asking me that when I am going to direct Vijay and Ajith. I have decided to cast both of them in my film. The script for that film is ready.

My next film will be Erandam Ulagam which will have Arya and Anushka in the lead roles. Apart from this I have scripts for two thriller films. I will be commencing the Part 2 of Aayirathil Oruvan next year."

4. Vikram ( விக்ரம்)  born as Kennedy Vikram Vinod Raj on 17 April 1966) is an Indian film actor who has predominantly appeared in Tamil language films.
